Drivers Road Test Plymouth Mn

1001

Failed in plymouth not necessarily true for everyone though, it was really a strict examiner. They will ask you the following, while seated in your car: 1. Adjustment of seat 2. Brake - emergency break 4. Lights - high and low beam 5. Deforesters - front and back 6. Fan control Once you are done, they will give you information about the road you will be driving.

Prior to your departure you will be parked infront of a one way road, there are slot 1,2,3 and 4. You will be told at the registration window which space you will be parking. Park carefully so that during your eventual departure you will havea good start to move and join the road. Your car will be parked right infront of a one way road. It will only turn to the right, from there onwards just follow their instructions.

After a while you will either turn left or right. If you turn right just go right into the corner closest to the curb. If they tell you to turn left, then don't make the same mistake some funny guy made (he was driving infront of me) lol, by turning to left closest to the curb. Remember once you see the yellow lines it's a two way road.

There will be no signs or markings! Once you see yellow lines treat it as a two way road. Lane change - make sure you look left, right and your back - just do lots of exagerated observations and I mean exagerated. It's not normal driving, remember you are doing for them! Don't forget to use your signals. Parallel parking - the usual stuff, go through with your instructor - remember the first cut is the deepest. Don't try to over adjust.

Minnesota Learner's Permit. In Minnesota, you must be 15 years old to receive your learners permit. All new drivers are also required to take a written Road Rules and Road Signs knowledge test which contains questions on Minnesota traffic laws, road signs and rules of safe driving. Location information for the DMV Minneapolis MN - Minnesota DDVS map, hours and services for the Minneapolis DMV - 2455 Fernbrook Lane. Plymouth DVS hours of operation, address, available services & more.

They consider that your car is parked when in between, not too close to front or back poles and keep close to the curb. 90 parking - yes, I had to do this too! They made me do everything in the book, it's easy though, they will ask to move all the way until the front of the car is inline with the poles.

Up hill park - close to the curb and turn your wheels away from the curb, and make sure you put the gear to parking point- i.e at the P - position and pull your emergency brakes, don't forget though to push back your emergency brakes ebfore you move. Signal and then move on, while looking to the sides, SMOG in and SMOG out. Signal, Mirror, Over the shoulder and Go. Turnings - don't turn your wheel to left or right when making turns unless you are comitted. You are comitted accroding to them once you look all around you, left, right and back and then turn the wheel to the corner you are going into. Generally be calm, I know its not allowed to drive and practice in that area, but I think its a good idea to have a walk in the driving place and see around. Its not a big place but knowing the roads and checking in advance on foot is really a good idea.

You will know where to turn and when etc I heard the plymouth testing area is really hard on minorities and I think there is some truth to it. They were really strict one me and I had to do everything in the book, you name it. It was like driving a Taxi with the passenger in the front seat.

Puck passed his driving test after hitting the curb! 'cause he wasn't a somali as he said! Unluckily enough I was a SOMALI! The examiner's demeanor and facial expression spoke voulmes. I tried though, but DMV kept me for ages to accumulate enough mistakes to make me fail!

Good luck my pals. Hi, I have a road test scheduled this week at the plymouth area. But I heard that it is really tough there. Has anyone taken a test there? Any tips that u can share? They are strict. I took my test the second time there and got more points taken off then I did my first test in anoka, mn.

I did waaaayyyy better than I did my first test and I still failed. Next week, I'm going back to anoka. Anoka dmv takes you out to city streets and they are more than happy to look pass minor flaws.

I think it's a lot easier if you're out on city streets because there are cars and people and you are more alert about what to do. If you go to places where they have their own tracks, it can be hard. You are not as alert because it's so quite and empty.

You can also search near a city, place, or address instead. I was here to change my out-of-state license to MN license and was impressed by how quickly the entire process was. When I first arrived, I did not see the signage for the written test so I accidentally waited in the wrong line.

A more visible signage would have avoided the confusion. Even so, I was able to leave within an hour! There was quite a line for the written test, but it moved pretty quickly. The bottleneck of the process was definitely the initial check-in or at any point where a staff interaction was required since there were only three staff members working at the written test area. There were 20 testing stations available and only half of them were being used at all times. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I did not know whether or not I should get the enhanced license and the lady patiently explained my options.

If you are wondering how I can possibly give this place 4 stars, keep reading. I'm originally from CA, have also lived in HI for a bit, and had to go through the CA and HI DMV locations plenty of times for driver and vehicle registration issues back in my younger days. Even though those visits were many years ago, they were comparable in suck factor for sure. MN DMV services make those other states look like 3rd world countries in the midst of a war.

Locations

Now I will admit that employees that work in DMVs everywhere seem to have a lot of similar traits that are not always positive. I think that in every state they are hired based on a prominent Eeyore factor and must score very low on motivation and executive processing speed in order to receive a job offer. However, that is where the similarities between all DMVs stop and where MN is much better. When there are lines at this location, at least they are organized and reasonable from a wait time standpoint. I know that there are some comments here on having to wait for an hour (my wait time on 3 separate occasions at this location have all been under 20 minutes) or more but that pales in comparison to the 5-6 hour waits at many CA DMV locations. I certainly appreciate that this location makes it relatively easy for me to accomplish auto owner and operator privileges in MN, especially if you have any perspective on how these services are totally dysfunctional in other states. What a magical DMV!

As a newbie from California, I needed to take the written test to get my driver's license. I went on a Wednesday morning at 8:30am and walked up with no line at all. Signage could be a bit better (if you just need a written test, go immediately to the room on the right when you walk in, not to the main counter), and I wish it was open on the weekend, but hey, it's the government.

Plymouth Mn Driving Test Course

It was speedy (in and out in under 30 minutes), the people were SO friendly, and the exam was super easy. Highly recommend.

Excellent experience! Came on a Thursday around 11:30am in the winter month. Was out of there faster than I expected!

When I did wait it line, it was less than a minute. Parking: follow the signs for public parking if your going in for services. The place is an obstacle for new drivers taking the road test, so there seems to be designated spots for them too! Staff: super friendly and very helpful. There was a lady out in the lines answering questions and helping people get their paperwork together. The staff in the knowledge exam area were awesome. Everyone there worked efficiently thru the entire process.

Knowledge / written exam: great! If that's all you need, go directly into the room. No need to wait if the long line outside.

There is a smaller line within the door but it goes quickly because there are like 15 testing stations. If you read the manual the test will be easy! You take it on a computer so you know instantly if you get them right or wrong and you can track your status of passing. You see a picture with the questions on the screen but there are also headphones to listen to the questions being read. Once you pass you wait in line and they can process your form right there if you have all the documents/ fees.

The young woman Ana helping me was suuuuper helpful! If you want to apply later, they can give you a yellow receipt that says you passed and will apply for your license later. If you don't pass, they'll let you know when you can take it again. Building: it's a smaller dmv. There's a waiting area with chairs.

They have a separate room for those just taking the knowledge exam. And another area where most of the line was to help people with renewals. I don't think they process tabs/plates. There was a young lady worker in the line helping people with forms and directing them where to go.

Road test plymouth

Super helpful! Bring cash or check. No credit card is accepted!

There's an ATM machine, restroom and a vending machine available. DMVs, typically, are the absolute worst facilities on the planet. Aside from this little slice of paradise.

I went in on a Thursday morning at about 10am, it was so empty and quiet. I was trying to squeeze in for a road test and was experiencing some roadblocks in the form of paperwork and needing something from a other state. Also, the walk in que was 'full'. Cue an angelic blonde with glasses, queen of the written test domain. She went out of her way to fax things, give me my refund for my permit and generally expedite the process. And even getting me in for a road test.

She pretty much made my week. THANK YOUU SO MUCHHHHH. The 5 star ratings on this site had to have been written by DMV employees themselves. Plymouth is a testing site known for failing males, particularly teens, on their first attempt. Hoping to avoid another 6-week wait for a scheduled test, we arrived on a Friday at 5:45 am. We were 5th in line for a walk-in test.

Road test scheduling

8 am rolled around and they took the first car. FOUR hours later, no other walk-ins had been taken. This would have been understandable if there were scheduled tests going on. However, while there was a flurry of testing activity from 8-8:45, it stopped and there was nothing until 10:15.

There wasn't one test, scheduled or walk-up for an hour and a half. It appears intentional to me.

At noon, we left, still 5th in line, to try to salvage the rest of the day. I went into the building to turn in our slip and was told I had to turn it in at the drive-up testing window. Mind you, this is the window where unlicensed drivers are driving up to get checked in. Not the type of driver you want to be dodging on foot. And think about it, you can't walk up to the window at Mc Donalds drive-thru as a safety precaution, but it's OK at the DMV.

We DROVE through the window and turned in our ticket. I asked if they were short evaluators that day and the polite girl said, 'No. Fridays are just really bad. No day is good for walk-ups, but Fridays are the worst.'

We called the DMV number to schedule a new appointment and will be driving to Mankato this Wednesday (3 day wait instead of 6 weeks). So, my takeaway is this: Steer clear of Plymouth at all costs. If you have to re-test, suffer the phone line wait and schedule for next available test station. Suck it up and drive to Aitken if you must, and be done with it! Came in thinking I had enough documents for the new enhanced license. When I saw the requirements I was a bit overwhelmed and had to sit and figure it all out.

Once I thought I had it mostly figured out one of the agents came over and offered to look it over for me and Wala! I was very happy as I had already taken my written tests and taken time off work and wasn't too thrilled about having to take time off again but luckily the friendly staff helped me straighten it all out. All in all, I had a great experience.
