Have you tried removing it and plugging it in again?
Have you looked up your card reader on the internet to see if you have the latest drivers for that card reader to work with Windows 7? If you have done all of this and are still having a problem, perhaps the store where you purchased the machine can help? The shop gave me the flash card, adapter and card reader so that I could transfer designs from my laptop to the machine.
I am running windows 7 on my laptop. Everytime I try to transfer a design from my computer to the card I get an I/O Device Error.
I have tried almost everything, including trying it on another computer running Win8, with same results. I do not have any Janome software running on my computer, nor was I told I needed anything besides what they gave me. Am I missing something or does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks in advance! You would need to find a used program. The program only works with 10000 V.2.2 and V.3. I believe Janome still has the V.2.2 update online. V.3 was a costly upgrade. Try eBay or other Janome groups. I have Easy Transfer for sale - US $10 with free S/H to the 48 states. This program allows you to transfer designs to your computer.
I have a SanDisk PC Card Adapter for sale - US $20 free S/H within state. There are people who say you don't need any software to transfer designs. However I have never gotten it to work - Missing stitches, distorted. One other thought ask your nephew if it is on his computer. It shows up as Janome Customizer in Programs.

The dealer who checked the machine out for me told me that the machine was great and ordered additional hoops for me, then when I told her that I didn't get any software with it she basically told me I could do whatever was on the machine and sew but has offered no other assistance.
